We just danced on the stage at the Pavarotti opera house to a packed audience. There were a few empty boxes...on the fifth floor. We have about three hours to pack now before heading to the airport. We'll be home in twenty hours, or so.
We're about to go off to rehearsal at the Pavarotti opera house and our first encounter with the raked stage. If I go flying off...well, hopefully there will be video. Posters for our performance are all over the region, especially Modena and Carpi; Onur and I just had to try that lift once mor...read more
The Bologna performance, at Nazareno Cooperativa Sociale's site in that city, went very well. The weather was wonderful and the audiences and our hosts were even more so. We received very complimentary feedback, and I think we really whet their appetites for our performance on Friday night. It turn...read more

Working Hard
Since our return from Italy, we've been hard at work preparing for "Home", our concert at 7Stages Theatre. On the program is the premiere of "Home", which revolves around the emotions associated with the concept of home. For instance, section one is about leaving one's home, and features a couple p...read more

Bologna at night
Following the performance in Bologna on Sunday, Delia took us to downtown for a walk. Think cobbled streets with marble sidewalks and arches everywhere. There are a few lowercase-l leaning towers--which I'm not posting, because shooting freehand at night just doesn't work that well. First shot is...read more

Sunday
Sunday began with a short foray to the street market in Correggio, where Onur scoured tents for bargains. I mostly worried about navigating the road--those aren't really even cobbles, they're riverstone, and the mortar's almost two cm down.

We performed at a villa in Bologna on Saturday. The grounds were lovely, featuring a nice steep grassy hill up to the vineyard. Naturally, we climbed it in between our rehearsal and performance. The best part was coming back down, when my chair decided to descend the hill rapidly--leaving me hang...read more

Today, Bologna
We arrived in Milan safe and sound. After an 8 1/2 hour flight and 2 1/2 hour van ride to the hotel in Corregio, the company was tired but elated to finally be in Italy. In addition to spending the day recovering, we did some sightseeing in Reggio. Lovely old town, with cobblestone streets - which ...read more
Our bags are packed...
Or at least, getting that way. Traveling to perform requires extra packing, traveling in a chair even more so--and we can't count on having a CVS around the corner for bobby pins and WD-40. I'm just grateful I don't have to take multiple chairs on this trip--although there would be some reassuranc...read more

Full Radius Dance is a modern dance company that presents mature, choreographically complex works celebrating technique and physicality. Our focus is on skill and artistry; that some of the dancers use wheelchairs is secondary. The wheelchair may lend additional movement possibilities to the choreography, but is not the focal point of the work. Founded in 1990, Full Radius Dance, originally known as Dance Force, Inc. is one of only a handful of physically-integrated dance companies in the United States.
